Resin & Clay Mold Comparison Demo
Not every mold material works equally well with every casting medium. In this demonstration class, you’ll see how different resins and clays behave in a variety of molds, including detailed, flexible, shallow, deep, and dimensional designs. We’ll compare options such as UV resin, two-part resin, air-dry clay, and moldable compounds, while discussing cure time, flexibility, strength, detail retention, surface finish, and ease of removal. You’ll also learn which materials are better suited for delicate embellishments, larger pieces, deep molds, rigid forms, and projects that need to be sanded, painted, drilled, or attached to another surface. This is an instructional demonstration rather than a make-and-take workshop. No project will be completed during class. The goal is to help you choose the right material before committing supplies, time, and possibly your last remaining nerve to the wrong mold.
